Toilet paper orientation - Wikipedia, the free... →
“There are two choices of toilet paper orientation when using a toilet roll holder with a horizontal axle parallel to the wall: the toilet paper may hang over or under the roll. The choice is largely a matter of personal preference, dictated by habit. In surveys of American consumers and of bath and kitchen specialists, 60–70% of respondents prefer over.”

The Ambiguity of “Open” and VP8 vs. H.264 – Blog →
“VP8 is not a standard. It was developed secretly by a single company, and until recently, had only a single working implementation. The public wasn’t open to collaboration on the specification until the bitstream spec was frozen, including the bugs that existed within. Now, the source code and reference implementation are available under liberal licenses, and all the related patents...

Destroyer's 'Kaput' →
The new Destroyer album, Kaput, is streaming at Hype Machine. It’s fucking great. The smoothest adult contemporary coke jams. At least, that’s how I’d describe it. Lots of sax and watery reverb.

kmikeym: AKA Zuckerberg’s Lament, More words. More reading. More thinking. More human. It is with some sadness we announced our recent problems and subsequent dismissal of Peter Zuckerdude’s famous FACERBRICK website and deli shop. While we detest the social aspects of FACEINGBRICK he has the best pastrami on rye on the east coast, and you know how much we love pastrami. But you know the old...

I’m not saying that Palin is responsible for the shooting in Arizona. What I am saying is that her rhetoric (“don’t retreat - RELOAD”, putting gun sights/targets over the districts of Democratic politicians) is an incitement to violence. Also, it’s just in bad fucking taste, especially in light of the shooting.

The Texas Omen - NYTimes.com →
“Right now, triumphant conservatives in Washington are declaring that they can cut taxes and still balance the budget by slashing spending. Yet they haven’t been able to do that even in Texas, which is willing both to impose great pain (by its stinginess on health care) and to shortchange the future (by neglecting education). How are they supposed to pull it off nationally, especially when...

I made a new Tumblr that features these cool punk lyrics that I’ve been writing at work. All songs written in 4 minutes or less. You should follow it! All lyrics are free for use, especially by punk bands or performance artists. This is inspired by Josiah from the band Grown-Ups who asked for some lyrics yesterday.

Went to see Wolves In The Throne Room last night. GREAT BAND. They’re kind of twee: - they use lots of candles and oil lamps - they’ve got the cute little sheep’s skull - they cover the stage in branches and foliage - they’ve got nice banners with trees and animals on them - they live on a farm - they burn shitloads of sage/incense - they are sentimental about the Past and...

“Notre Dame Indie Musician inspired by Bon Iver, Andrew Bird, Joshua Radin, Mumford & Sons, Iron & Wine, and Paul Simon” Just reading that sentence led to my early death from TOTAL BOREDOM. Also, capitalizing “indie” is stupid, as is capitalizing “musician”. Sorry, BonIverFan420!
